Thumbs up to music lovers of Fredericton, who snapped up $250,000 in tickets on the first day of sales for the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival. Great support for a great festival.

Thumbs down to operators of emergency vehicles who feel the need to have sirens blaring while they rush to calls in the middle of the night on near-empty streets. If there is not a need for sirens to be used at that time of day, why use them? Flashing lights would likely do the trick.

Thumbs up to the city of Fredericton's horticultural crew for their hard work and excellent tending of flowers around the city. They look fantastic.
