Body of slain soldier returns to Canada

TRENTON, Ont. - The body of the latest Canadian soldier to die in Afghanistan is back on Canadian soil.

Cpl. James Arnal, 25, was killed July 18 by a roadside bomb while he was on foot patrol.

Friends, family, and dignitaries gathered at Canadian Forces Base Trenton to meet the Canadian Forces plane carrying Arnal's body.

Arnal was on his second tour of Afghanistan and had already signed up for a third.

Friends described him as a funny, spontaneous and adventurous individual who travelled to Africa and Asia before serving in Afghanistan.

Arnal, the 88th Canadian soldier to die on the Afghan mission, told his friends and family that he was born to be a soldier.

Sean Best, who knew Arnal since kindergarten, said the soldier's close-knit family is doing its best to deal with the tragedy.

Hurricane Dolly churns way to southern Texas

Missing girl believed to be murder victim

ORLANDO, Fla. - Prosecutors in Florida say the case of a missing two-year-old Orlando girl is beginning to look like a homicide.

A judge has set bond at $500,000 for the girl's mother, who was charged with obstructing the investigation after investigators say she lied to them.

Circuit Judge Stan Strickland said he's concerned that evidence presented in court possibly implicates 22-year-old Casey Anthony in two-year-old Caylee's death.

An investigator testified that Anthony's car smelled of decomposition when it was found.

Anthony was arrested last week after reporting her daughter missing.

The girl hasn't been seen since last month.

Money doesn't grow on trees, but it can fly

TORRANCE, Calif. - A dozen bystanders rushed in to help a 70-year-old man after he stumbled leaving a Southern California bank, causing thousands of dollars to scatter in the wind.

Ludwig Geier said hundreds of bills were "gone in no time," flying through the air and littering the First National Bank's parking lot in Torrance on Monday. Almost immediately, about a dozen bystanders rushed in to help. The machine shop owner said about 96 per cent of the money was found.

Geier said he's going to pray for those Good Samaritans, adding, "If I could get them together, I'd buy them dinner and drinks."
