
Religion digest

Submissions to Religion Digest must be received by Monday noon for publication on Thursday. Items can be e-mailed to the editor, Forrest Orser, at religion@dailygleaner.com, or mailed to The Daily Gleaner, P.O. Box 3370, Fredericton, N.B., E3B-5A2, or dropped off in written form at the office on Prospect Street. Include your name and a telephone contact number. Each item will be run once. Items should not be longer than 50 words.
Strawberry supper
A strawberry supper will be held Saturday, July 19, 4-6 p.m. at Hillcrest United Church on Route 107 in Stanley. The menu will include homemade rolls, jellied salads, ham, beans, potato salad and strawberry shortcake. Prices are adults, $10; children six-12 years, $4, and under 6, $1.
Supper, auction
A supper and auction will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Harvey, on Saturday, July 19. The supper will be from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. and the auction will be at 7 p.m. The menu will include potato salad, turkey salad, baked beans, rolls and dessert.
Birdton Church
An evening of music led by The Gospel Way will be held at the Birdton Church on Route 617 on July 20 at 7 p.m. Refreshments will follow.
Unitarian Fellowship
On Sunday July 20th at 11 a.m., the Unitarian Fellowship, 874 York St. will present Exercising Forgiveness, a service by Sue Steen. Fair-trade coffee and conversation will follow. Go to www.ufff.ca for more information.
Kings Landing
Rev. Jane Arnott will celebrate the Sabbath at St. Mark's Chapel of Ease, Kings Landing, at 3 p.m., Sunday, July 20. Also this Sunday, Rev Kimberly Barlow, St. Peter's Presbyterian Church, Stanley, will lead a service at the Riverside Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m.
Drive-n service
Faith Baptist Church in New Maryland will have Kathy Antone Arbo as its drive-n service guest on Sunday, July 20, at 7:30 p.m. For more information call 459-8756.
Woodland Cemetery
The annual meeting of the Woodland Cemetery, Inc will be held at the Woodland Church on Thursday, July 24, at 7:30 p.m. All welcome.
Vacation Bible schools
New Maryland Baptist Church, 505 Phillips Rd., Nasonworth, will be hosting vacation Bible school from July 28 - Aug. 1, Monday to Friday, from 9 - 11:30 a.m. All children age three-12 are welcome. This year's theme is Dino Detectives. There will be Bible stories, crafts, games, puppets, skits, snacks and prizes. For more information phone the church office at 459-5900. Vacation Bible school will be held at The Salvation Army, 531 St., Mary's St., from July 21-25, 6-8:30 p.m. for ages five to 12.
